Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Simply Asking's knowledge platform. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users, including individuals, businesses, and API consumers.

Simply Asking is designed for legitimate business and personal knowledge management. Permitted uses include:

• Uploading, organizing, and searching your own documents and content
• Using AI-assisted search and chat to query your knowledge base
• Generating summaries, insights, and answers from your uploaded content
• Collaborating with team members on shared organizational knowledge
• Integrating with authorized third-party services via our API
• Building internal tools and workflows using our platform

You may not upload, store, or process the following types of content:

Illegal Content

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content sexualizing minors
• Content that violates intellectual property rights without authorization
• Stolen data, credentials, or personally identifiable information obtained illegally
• Content facilitating illegal activities (drug trafficking, weapons sales, etc.)
• Content that violates export control laws or sanctions

Harmful Content

• Malware, viruses, or code designed to damage systems
• Content promoting violence, terrorism, or extremism
• Harassment, bullying, or content targeting individuals
• Disinformation or deliberately misleading content intended to deceive
• Content designed to generate spam or phishing attacks

Regulated Content (Without Proper Safeguards)

• Protected health information (PHI) without a BAA in place
• Payment card data (PCI-DSS) without appropriate compliance measures
• Classified government information

When using our AI features (chat, search, content generation), you may not:

• Attempt to extract training data or reverse-engineer AI models
• Use AI outputs to generate misleading content presented as human-written
• Attempt to "jailbreak" or circumvent AI safety measures
• Use AI to generate content that violates this AUP
• Automate queries in a way that degrades service for other users
• Use AI outputs for automated decision-making affecting individuals without human review
• Represent AI-generated content as professional advice (legal, medical, financial) without disclaimer

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

Security Violations

• Attempting to access accounts or data belonging to other users
• Probing for vulnerabilities without authorization (see our Bug Bounty Program)
• Sharing account credentials or API keys with unauthorized parties
• Circumventing access controls, rate limits, or security measures

Platform Abuse

• Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits or bans
• Reselling or sublicensing access without authorization
• Using the platform for competitive intelligence gathering against Simply Asking
• Interfering with the platform's operation or other users' experience
• Excessive API usage that impacts service availability

Misrepresentation

• Impersonating Simply Asking or its employees
• Falsely claiming affiliation or endorsement
• Providing false information during registration or verification

5. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure fair access for all users, we enforce usage limits:

If you become aware of content or behavior that violates this policy, please report it:

• Security issues: security@simplyasking.io
• Legal concerns: legal@simplyasking.io

We investigate all reports and take appropriate action. Reporters may remain anonymous.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP to reflect new features, legal requirements, or security concerns. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
