Understanding Your Home Dashboard

Learn what every section of your home dashboard means and how to find what you need, whether you are on a personal or business account.

Your home dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in. It gives you an overview of your knowledge system, quick access to core actions, and (for business accounts) team activity and metrics.

Simply Asking provides two different dashboard experiences depending on your account type:

Personal AccountA focused, individual workspace with quick actions and knowledge health at a glance.
Business AccountA team-oriented hub with org identity, AI insights, metrics, featured content, and team activity.

If you are on a personal account, your home dashboard is designed for speed and simplicity. Everything you need is on one screen.

Time-Based GreetingThe dashboard greets you with 'Good morning,' 'Good afternoon,' or 'Good evening' based on your local time.
Quick Actions: Ask and SearchFront and center are the two primary ways to interact with your knowledge: Ask a question or Search your documents.
Knowledge Base Health SummaryA summary card shows document count, entity count, and graph density. Higher density means the system can find more relationships between topics.
Getting Started TipsIf you are new and have not uploaded any documents yet, the dashboard shows helpful tips. These disappear once you have documents and are replaced by the health summary.

When you belong to a business organization, you see the team dashboard instead of the personal one. This is a shared hub designed to keep everyone aligned on knowledge activity, priorities, and team updates.

Team Identity HeaderShows your organization's logo, name, member count, and optional tagline. Set these in organization settings.
Lumen AI Insight PanelA dynamic AI-generated summary of what is happening in your knowledge base. Highlights new activity, emerging trends, and areas that need attention.
Key MetricsStat cards showing total documents, active entities, graph density, and team activity. Click any card to drill down into the underlying data.
Announcements & Featured ContentAdmin-pinned content that the whole team should see. Announcements appear at the top and can be dismissed after reading.
Recent Activity FeedShows the latest uploads, new entities discovered, agent conversations, and team interactions across the organization.
Pinned ResourcesQuick links to frequently accessed documents, dashboards, or tools pinned by admins for the whole team.

Now that you understand your dashboard and navigation, explore how to understand what types of documents work best and how to organize them effectively.
